Understanding Meta tags: Definition, meta tag analysis of a webpage of choice and description of each meta tags

Meta tags are codes present on a webpage that provide a description of the content of the webpage. These tags, which are also known as meta data, typically include the title tag, meta description tag, and keywords tag, although the latter is no longer widely used. Other types of meta tags also exist. The meta tags are usually located at the top of a webpage in the "head" section of the HTML code. They are essential in determining the appearance of the webpage on Google search results pages, though search engines may alter the webpage listing in search results as they see fit.

The meta description tag presents an occasion to provide a brief overview of the page's content. This enables search engines to identify the subject matter of the page and appropriately categorize it in search results. Additionally, it assists users in determining whether the webpage contains the information they're seeking.
